Part of The Original Sideroad
your first agency is a hallmark moment in the career of a writer. For once, we're lucky enough to be able to share in this excitement with our own Health Columnist, Shara Rendell-Smock. Earlier this month, Shara signed a contract with the Roslyn Targ Literary Agency in New York.
Although Shara has authored or co-authored over 20 computer manuals, and written two other books, she's never had an agent before. For her Living With Big Cats book, she approached a publisher directly, and she self-published Getting Hooked. In fact, it was Getting Hooked that help get her the contract.
Booker Jones, the agent, intends to sell the rights to Getting Hooked. "When I read the synopsis for Getting Hooked on Authorlink, I knew I had to have this book. It's fabulous and fun," says Jones.
Roslyn Targ Literary Agency, Inc. has been in existence for over 35 years and has an eclectic list of authors. Jones says, "We are pleased to include Shara among them."
For her part, Shara hopes the agency will hook her up with buyers for future work. "I've got a lot of ideas for books," Shara says, and proves every week on her Sideroad column.
In fact, Shara's November series on Osteoporosis was recently rated among the Best of the Web under "Women's -> Health -> Osteoporosis" by the Lycos Search Engine.
