In April, Jews all over the world celebrated the Passover holiday commemorating their forefathers exodus from Egypt. For me, it was a chance to make a short exodus of my own and fly home to Toronto.

Once there, I welcome the formality and cold politeness of my fellow Canadians. I find their banal concerns over issues like taxation, education and unemployment--all usually page five news in Israel--a refreshing change of pace. And I am overcome with joy at the opportunity to see my parents, and for them to see Ben.
