Charles Loyd McIntosh

Note from the Author:

Before I get started on Issue # 21, I would like to take a minute to apologize to anyone I may have infuriated with last week's column (Issue # 20). I said a few terribly mean things about the fans at a recent soccer game between the Mexican and American National teams that could have been seen as insensitive or even "racist."

Needless to say, this was not my intent. My purpose in writing that column was to communicate my frustration as a soccer fan and former player and coach having to watch as the sport in America continues to not get the respect it deserves.

Furthermore, when the safety and well being of the athletes, and even some fans, is compromised by a group of fans, well, my blood simply begins to boil. I apologize if you were insulted.

However, if you were insulted, you obviously didn't get the point.
