How to make an all purpose homemade spice mix.

All Purpose Spice Mix

It’s easy to create your own spice blends at home. You can check the ingredients of your favorite commerical spice blends and often mix them yourself.

The benefit of mixing your own is that you control the ingredients and can adjust accordingly.

Take the following recipe and add a bit less than the recipe calls for and omit any ingredient you aren’t fond of. This will allow you to add more ingredients in small increments to reach your desired taste.

1/3 cup Grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Sesame seeds
2 Tablespoon Paprika
1 Tablespoon Poppy seeds
1 chicken bouillon cube
2 teaspoon Dried parsley
1 teaspoon Onion flakes
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
1 teaspoon Celery seed
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Crush bouillon cube into fine powder, put in screw-top jar.

Add remaining ingredients and shake until well mixed.

Store in refrigerator for up to 4 months.
May be used on fish, meat, stews, casseroles, salads, vegetables.

Tip: If you prefer your spice mix to be ground powder, you can add the ingredients to a coffee grinder and grind it. If not, you can just mix it up and store it.

If you enjoy making this recipe, you can purchase bulk spices and mix more of your favorite spice blends for much less than store-bought spice mixes.

You can get creative with your combinations. You can package them in plastic bags, paper bags, tins, or any jar. Homemade spice mixes make an excellent gift too.
