Hot and BotheredThere are days when I wake up thinking I still live in Toronto. Just yesterday, for example, the radio woke me at 6:30 AM, as always. "Today's temperature" said the announcer "will reach a high of around twenty." Cold I thought, still in a daze, but nothing unusual for Toronto in mid-February. |
It was only with the announcer's subsequent words that I remembered where I now live. "Expect longer than usual traffic delays," she said, "as police have set up road blocks on all the major routes following warnings that Hamas plans to carry out another suicide bombing." Aaaahh yes, Israel. I live in Israel now. Have done so for the past year
and a half. And it's not minus twenty outside, it's plus twenty. |
